  • Checked baggage may be accepted within six (6) hours of scheduled departure time based on the opening of the ticket counter on the same calendar day
  • Checked baggage will not be accepted less than 40 minutes prior to departure on domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights.

JetBlue is not liable for any charges incurred for baggage that was checked late, nor will we be liable for delivery or compensation for late-checked baggage. 

  • If you're not checking bags, you must check in no later than 30 minutes* prior to scheduled departure for domestic flights, and 60 minutes for international flights

Traveling to Cuba with pets or service/emotional support animals

JetBlue does accept pets (small dogs and cats) for transportation to/from Cuba. Service and Emotional Support dogs and cats are also accepted.

Dogs and cats may only enter Cuba if they are fully compliant with the import requirements:

Cats and dogs: must be accompanied by an official veterinary certificate, which must include the owner's details; animal details (species, sex, age, name, race and color); details of rabies vaccination, specifying type of vaccine, batch number and date of immunization; details of any other vaccinations and/or treatment for internal parasites. They must also be clinically inspected prior to shipment proving that the animal is disease free and has no external parasites or wounds.

Making a baggage claim

If your baggage has been delayed or damaged, it is important to make a baggage claim with a JetBlue crewmember while you're at the airport.

If you need to make the claim once you've left the airport, please call the JetBlue Baggage Service Office at the airport you flew into within four (4) hours after arrival.

Check in & gate information

JetBlue will use the Common Use Ticket Counter, but the specific location is subject to change from day to day. 

We recommend you arrive at the airport at least three (3) hours prior to departure. Avoid delays by checking for traffic alerts, and allow enough time to go through security screening, particularly during holidays and peak travel days. Please note, JetBlue has cut-off times for baggage check in, and also for check in at the departure gate; JetBlue will not be responsible for expenses incurred due to late check in.

To get through security you will need to check in at the ticket counter and receive your boarding pass.

Documents required for travel vary according to citizenship, residency, age (for minors), length of stay, purpose of visit, student status, etc. Please check for specific requirements for the country, or countries, you are visiting to make sure you have the correct documents.

Boarding cut-off time

Each customer must be onboard the aircraft 20 minutes prior to departure.

Any customer not onboard, even if they have checked in and received a boarding pass, may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to denied boarding compensation.

Check in & pick up info for unaccompanied minors

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

Airport Operations crewmembers must also ensure the other UMNR’s documentation and forms are contained in the Junior Crew Pouch. UNMRs will not be released to anyone other than the adult listed on the child’s UNMR paperwork.

When dropping off the unaccompanied minor, the parent/guardian may NOT leave the airport until the following criteria are met:

  • The parent/guardian has a signed copy of the UMNR form
  • Immigration and Customs Forms
  • The UMNR is onboard the aircraft 
  • The parent/guardian's name, address and cell phone number are all documented on the minor's reservation.

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. 

The following forms must be completed by the Parent or Guardian dropping the child off at the airport and must be inserted into the Junior Crew Pouch:

  • An Unaccompanied Minor Form
  • Immigration and Customs Forms

Pick up information

Parents or guardians who are picking up an unaccompanied minor should go to the information desk. A JetBlue crewmember will accompany the unaccompanied minor from the gate until the parent/guardian arrives. Please arrive at the airport no later than 45 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government-issued photo ID.

Want to take public transit? The M60 SBS & Q47 bus stop is located on Marine Terminal Road outside of Terminal A.
The Q70 SBS, Q72 & Q48 are accessible from Terminal B. If you take one of these to Terminal B, you can take the free BLUE shuttle to Terminal A.

Short Term parking is available in front of the arrivals area. Parking is 3cuc per foreign passanger (USD 3.00 the whole day) and 5pesos (local currency) for Cubans.
