Changes, Cancellations and Standby Guidelines



 
Name Changes
Name changes are not permitted. If you will not be traveling and would like someone else to use your ticket, you may cancel your reservation for a per-person fee (depending on your fare - see guidelines below) and the remaining amount will be placed into a JetBlue credit good for one (1) year.   • Your JetBlue credit will be accessed through your Travel Bank account.
  • JetBlue credits may be used towards a JetBlue reservation or JetBlue Vacations package.
  • JetBlue credits may not be used towards ShopBlue merchandise.

Change/cancel fee amounts

When you book a JetBlue flight, you'll choose from several fare options — Blue, Blue Plus or Blue Flex — based on what's most valuable to you.  This applies to TrueBlue Redemption/Points bookings.

Depending on which fare option you purchased, the change and cancellation fees are as follows:

Blue & Blue Plus

  • $75 per-person fee for fares under $100 + difference in fare
  • $100 per-person fee for fares between $100 - $149 + difference in fare
  • $150 per-person fee for fares $150 or more + difference in fare

Changes and cancellations made 60 days or more prior to departure date will be $75 + difference in fare.

Blue Flex

No charge to change or cancel your reservation prior to departure, difference in fare only.

Additional Change/Cancellation Terms (all fares):  For changes, any applicable fare difference will be charged in addition to the change fee and are subject to availability. Cancellations are for a JetBlue flight credit only, valid for a JetBlue flight within one (1) year from the date of cancellation. If you do not change/cancel before scheduled departure and you "no show" all money for the reservation is forfeited. JetBlue change and cancellation fees will be waived for Mosaic members and those who are on the same itinerary as the Mosaic member. For a list of all of TrueBlue Mosaic benefits click here.

Refund Laws for Travel Originating in Colombia

Changes, Cancellations, and No-Shows

For quick and easy changes or cancellations to existing reservations, please visit jetblue.com and click on 'Manage Flights'.

Cancellations within 24 Hours

Customers will have 24 hours from the time of their original booking to cancel their reservation without being charged a cancellation fee, regardless of fare selected, if travel was booked seven (7) days or more prior to the departure date (not applicable for JetBlue Vacations reservations). Bookings that have been changed are not eligible for a credit card refund and are subject to a cancellation fee, regardless of being within 24 hours of the original booking.

Nonrefundable Fares

For JetBlue nonrefundable fares, changes or cancellations may be made prior to scheduled departure for a per-person change/cancel fee plus any applicable difference in airfare. Any remaining balance will be placed in a JetBlue air-only credit and may be applied toward future travel for one year from date of issuance.

No-shows

If a JetBlue nonrefundable segment is not changed or cancelled prior to scheduled departure, all money associated with the segment is forfeited.

If the change request is made prior to scheduled departure and on the same calendar day, customers may take advantage of our same-day change options (see below for details).

Refundable Fares

For JetBlue refundable fares, changes and cancellations for a full refund are permitted prior to scheduled departure. Such changes are subject to availability and any applicable difference in airfare. If a refundable segment is not changed or cancelled prior to scheduled departure, all money associated with the segment will be placed in a JetBlue air-only credit and may be applied toward future travel for one year from date of issuance.

  • Changes or cancellations made by calling our reservations team at 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) will require you to have your confirmation number or the name of the customer and the credit card number that was used to make the reservation.
  • Changes or cancellations made online will require the confirmation number, last name, credit card number and the origin and destination cities. Online Change/Cancel

Cancelled by JetBlue / Fee Waiver Issued

In the event that JetBlue has cancelled a flight and/or a fee waiver has been issued, impacted* customers  can go online to the 'Manage Flights' section of jetblue.com to change or cancel their flight without fee or increase in fare, even to sister cities.

*Note: In order to rebook travel without a fee/increase in fare online, your flight must: (1) been cancelled by JetBlue; AND/OR (2) meet the fee waiver parameters if a fee waiver is currently in place.

Honoring the Lower Fare

If you are rebooking within 5 days of original purchase and prior to departure, there is no fee to honor the lower fare found on a JetBlue-operated flight.

In the event that a fare on a JetBlue-operated flight decreases after purchase, customers may rebook travel at the lower fare on the same flight to receive a credit for the difference in fare.

A $75 fee applies to honor the lower fare for the same fare option on tickets exchanged 6 or more days from original purchase date, regardless of fare purchased.

Any difference in fare will be returned in the form of a JetBlue credit, good for one year from the date of issuance.

Same-Day Flight Change

Cities with Multiple Flights a Day

  • You must contact JetBlue prior to the departure of your original flight
  • You can make your confirmed same-day changes online, via 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) or at the airport beginning at midnight (in the time zone of the departing flight) of the same calendar day as your original scheduled flight.
  • You must travel on an earlier or later flight the same day.
  • You must travel between the same city pairs or designated co-located airport.
  • A same-day change fee of $75 may apply, depending on your fare.

Cities with One Flight a Day
The same-day change option is not available for cities with one flight a day.

Additional Mosaic Same-Day Change Benefits

  • You can make your confirmed same-day changes via the dedicated Mosaic line or at the airport beginning a full 24 hours (in the time zone of the departing flight) prior to your original scheduled flight. 
  • Same day change fee is waived.
  • All other same-day change guidelines apply.

Changes or Cancellations to Groups/Meetings Bookings
Changes and cancellations made to Groups/Meetings bookings must be done over the phone by calling the Groups Desk,1-888-538-2583, option 2, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. MT. Customers with hearing or speech impairments can call our toll-free TTY/TDD telephone number, 711.

Changing/cancelling a travel agency booking

Reservations made through a travel agency, including online travel agencies (i.e. Priceline, Expedia, etc.), may be changed or cancelled on jetblue.com from the 'Manage Flights' tab, through the original booking source, or by calling 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583).

*Please note that there will be a one-time $50/per-ticket (per-person) service fee that is applicable for ticket changes made over the phone on all travel agency bookings which may be self-managed on jetblue.com. 


Standby Travel
  • Standby travel is based on seat availability, is not guaranteed and, depending on your fare, is subject to an additional fee. Standby travel is only offered when the desired flight is sold out and you are unable to complete a Same Day Change.
  • In order to travel standby, you must have already purchased a seat on JetBlue.
  • You may list standby on any sold-out flight on the same calendar day as your confirmed scheduled departure.
  • There is a $75 charge to list standby. This fee is refundable if you are not confirmed on your standby flight.
  • You may list standby at the airport prior to your original flight. Standby travel cannot be listed over the phone.
  • You must travel between the same city pairs (i.e. you can be confirmed on a nonstop and travel standby on a connecting flight or vice versa as long as the origin and destination cities remain the same).
  • If you have an Even More® Space seat and choose to travel standby, you will forfeit the seat fee and not be eligible for a refund.
  • Customers in cities with multiple flights can travel standby ONLY on the same day. Standby and Same Day Change options are not available to Customers in cities with one flight a day.
  • Mint® customers may choose to travel standby but the Mint seat will not be guaranteed and will only be assigned if available. The $75 fee will apply and no refund of the Mint experience will be given if a core seat is assigned.
  • Please note that to LIST standby only one person per PNR is needed at the airport. However, to CHECK IN each individual must be present.
