Online Seat Selection

If there are not any seats available to assign when you book your reservation, it doesn't mean that you won't have a seat - it simply means the only seats left to assign must be assigned at the airport.

We do not overbook our flights; therefore, everyone who pays for a flight will be guaranteed a seat.

*** If you booked your reservation through a Travel Agent, you can book your seat online or by calling 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) for assistance from our Customer Support Team.

Even More® Space

When you fly JetBlue you get to enjoy comfy leather seats with lots of legroom to stretch out, relax, and enjoy the award-winning JetBlue experience.

Now we've decided to give you even more.

Go from roomy to roomier with our Even More® Space seats, which include:

  • Extra legroom
  • Early boarding
  • Early access to overhead bins

Even More® Space is available for an extra charge which varies by route. Prices range from $10 to $70 depending on the flight. To check the price on a particular flight, simply select an Even More® Space seat from the seat map during booking or during the check-in process.

Purchasing an Extra Seat

An extra seat may be purchased online or by calling our Reservations team at 1-800 JETBLUE (538-2583).  Please note, there is a $20 booking fee* associated with all reservations made over the phone, at the airport, or at a city ticket office.

*Fees are assessed per person, NOT per seat. Customers will be charged the booking fee for the seat they occupy and will NOT be charged an additional booking fee for the Extra Seat(s)

Or, if you would like to book online, click on this link: Book a Flight and follow the directions below to book your extra seat:

  • Follow the normal booking instructions but make the reservation for one extra person.
  • Book the first seat with your name; for example, SMITH/ROBERT.
  • Book the second seat with your last name and 'extra seat' as the first name; for example, SMITH/EXTRA SEAT.
  • Don't forget to complete the seat assignments.
Baggage allowance for extra seat: When you purchase an extra seat, you increase your checked baggage allowance with the extra seat. The carry-on baggage allowance remains the same per person.

Emergency Exit Row Requirements

Emergency doors are often heavy and awkward to lift, push, pull and maneuver when opening. For the safety of all customers, federal regulations require that the customer seated in an emergency exit row be able to assist the crew in the event of an emergency.

All customers sitting in the exit row must be willing and able to meet the following exit row requirements:

  1. 15 years of age or older
  2. able to read, understand and give instructions in English
  3. free from any condition that would prevent you from performing the required duties
  4. willing and able to assist in case of an emergency.

Airport Customer Service crewmembers will make the final decision in determining who will be seated in exit row seats, even when seats have been assigned prior to arrival at the airport.

Please note: Customers with disabilities, or traveling with a pet or lap infant will not be seated in an Emergency Exit row.

Length of Seatbelts
Our seatbelts are 45 inches in length and you can request 25 inch extensions onboard the aircraft.

Seats on the Airbus and EMBRAER Aircraft

At JetBlue, we’re proud to offer you plenty of legroom! This is no knees-in-your-nose air travel experience. On JetBlue, the seat in front of you is simply further away than it is on other airlines -- and it makes a very noticeable, very comfortable difference. So go ahead, stretch out! Your legs will thank you.

All seats are equipped with our popular entertainment system, featuring 36 channels of DIRECTV® plus more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio for free and, on flights longer than two hours, a selection of movies from FOX InFlight.
