About Cape Air

Cape Air began service in 1989. They currently have a fleet of over 50 aircraft, and offer up to 850 flights daily to 21 destinations. Cape Air will operate flights using nine-seat propeller-operated Cessna 402 aircraft.

The JetBlue/Cape Air Partnership will serve connecting flights to/from Boston and the following destinations:

  • Hyannis, MA (HYA)
  • Martha's Vineyard, MA (MVY)
  • Nantucket, MA (ACK)
  • Provincetown, MA (PVC)
  • Rutland, VT

Please note, JetBlue also has service to/from JFK to ACK (Nantucket) using our EMBRAER 190s.

Direct flights from BOS on Cape Air cannot be booked through JetBlue.

Ascending and Descending Stairs

All Customers traveling on Cape Air flights must be able to ascend and descend three stairs. If you unable to do so, you must travel with an attendant who can assist you. There is no lift available to assist with this process.

JetBlue or Cape Air Crewmembers are not allowed to lift customers.


Cancellations

Cancellations may be made prior to the scheduled departure for a fee of $100 per person. Any remaining balance will be placed in a JetBlue credit and may be applied toward future travel for one year.

If a reservation is not canceled prior to scheduled departure, all money associated with the reservation is forfeited. JetBlue fares are nonrefundable.


Carry-on Baggage
The following carry-on items are permitted, depending on space availability:
  • small personal item such as a purse or camera
  • cane, walking sticks, crutches, or other assistive devices
  • infant/child safety seat
  • stroller
Carry-on baggage will be placed in the wing stowage space just before boarding the aircraft. Some smaller items may be carried on to the aircraft as long as they can safely travel on the customer's lap.

Changing Your Air-Only Reservation

Changes may be made prior to the scheduled departure for a fee of $100 per person plus any applicable difference in airfare. To change or cancel your reservation online now, click here:Change or cancel my reservation

Any remaining balance will be placed in a JetBlue credit and may be applied toward future travel for one year. If a reservation is not changed or canceled prior to scheduled departure, all money associated with the reservation is forfeited.

Changes made by calling our Reservations team will require you to have your confirmation number or the name of the customer and the credit card that was used to make the reservation. Changes made online will require the confirmation number, last name, credit card number and the origin and destination cities.

JetBlue credits are not redeemable towards merchandise on ShopBlue.


Checked Baggage
The following baggage allowances apply to Cape Air flights:
  • Customers are allowed one checked bag weighing up to 50 pounds free of charge; a second bag will have a charge of $25.
  • Customers are allowed bags weighing more than 50 pounds, up to 70 pounds, for a charge of $50 per bag. The fee will be collected at the airport by JetBlue at check in.
  • Excess baggage is accepted by Cape Air on a space-available basis for the normal JetBlue excess baggage fee.
  • Bags weighing more than 70 pounds are not accepted on Cape Air flights.
  • Oversize bags more than 62 linear inches are not accepted on Cape Air flights.
Customer's bags will be checked all the way through to their final destination.

Checking In

Customers who begin their travel with a JetBlue flight will be able to check in online, at a kiosk, or at the JetBlue airport counter. Customers will receive two boarding passes: one for the JetBlue flight and one for the Cape Air flight. Remember, the Cape Air boarding pass will not have a seat assignment, but customers will receive a seat assignment at the Cape Air gate.

Customers who begin their travel with Cape Air will only be able to check in at the Cape Air counter for both the Cape Air flight and the JetBlue connection. They will also receive two boarding pases: one for the Cape Air flight and one for the JetBlue flight. Kiosk and online check in are not available for flights originating at Cape Air locations.

Cape Air's gate is located next to JetBlue's gates in Terminal C at Boston Logan Airport (BOS).

Flight Tracking
Flight tracking for Cape Air flights ia available on jetblue.com. However, 1-800-JETBLUE does not have flight tracking information for Cape Air flights on the recording.

Infants
Infants under age 2 may travel free as a lap child on JetBlue/Cape Air flights.

Online Booking
Customers can book reservations for JetBlue/Cape Air flights online. Information on Cape Air flights is available on the flight information page.

Pets on Cape Air
Cape Air allows only one pet per flight. We accept small cats and dogs in the cabin of the aircraft. The following guidelines apply to customers bringing a pet. Please note: These requirements do not apply to certified service animals or emotional support animals.
  • The nonrefundable fee for a pet is $100 each way.
  • Only one pet is allowed per customer.
  • Combined weight of the pet and carrier may not exceed 20 pounds.
  • Your pet and carrier will count as your one personal item.
  • Pets must remain in the carrier and under the seat during the entire flight.
  • Your pet must fit in a carrier that does not exceed 17"l x 12.5"w x 8"h and must be placed under the seat in front of you. Note: When passing through security, you will be asked to hold the pet and walk through while the carrier is x-rayed.
  • Only one pet is allowed per carrier.
  • Your pet must be able to stand up and move around in the carrier with ease.
  • Carriers must have a leak proof bottom and must be well ventilated on at least two sides.
  • Approved soft-sided carriers specifically designed as pet carriers are acceptable.

Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals
There is no limit on the size or number of service or emotional support animals allowed on each Cape Air flight. The procedures, and documentation requirements, for booking these animals is exactly the same as for other JetBlue flights.

Sporting Equipment
The following items are not permitted on JetBlue/Cape Air flights:
  • bicycle
  • water skis
  • surfboards

One item of golfing (one golf bag and one pair of golf shoes), ski, or snowboarding equipment (see below) will be accepted free of charge in lieu of one checked bag.

One item of ski equipment is considered:

  • One pair of skis, with one pair of snow boots and one pair of ski poles.

or

  • one snowboard, with one pair of snow boots and one pair of ski poles.

The equipment must be checked in at the ticket counter.

All ski equipment must be in a sturdy container for protection since we do not provide ski boxes.


TrueBlue

Customers can accumulate TrueBlue points for their JetBlue/Cape Air flights. The same point values apply. For example, OAK-BOS and also OAK-BOS-ACK both earn six points (or 12 points if booked online).

Customers may use their TrueBlue awards to book JetBlue/Cape Air flights.


Unaccompanied Minors

Since JetBlue/Cape Air bookings are connecting flights, unaccompanied minors may not travel on the JetBlue/Cape Air flights.

An unaccompanied minor is a child between the ages of 5 and under 14 years traveling alone.


Wheelchairs
One folding wheelchair is allowed on each Cape Air flight. Motorized wheelchairs are not accepted unless they are collapsible and the battery can be removed.
