Current security directives permit only three ounces or less of liquids or gels to go through security screening in one, quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag. With the exception of medications, any amount of liquid, including alcohol, greater than three ounces must be packed in your checked baggage.

However, after passing through the security checkpoint, you may now bring liquids and other items purchased in the secure boarding area onboard the aircraft.

If purchased in the secure boarding area, JetBlue will allow alcoholic beverages not more than 24% alcohol by volume, or more than 24% by volume and not exceeding 70% alcohol by volume, when in retail packages, not exceeding a total quantity of five liters per person.

Alcoholic beverages with more than 70% alcohol content (140 proof), including 95% grain alcohol and 150 proof rum, are not permitted in your checked baggage.

You are allowed to take up to five liters of alcohol with alcohol content between 24% and 70% per person as checked baggage if it's packaged in a sealable bottle or flask.

Alcoholic beverages with less than 24% alcohol content are not subject to hazardous materials regulations.

Customers over the age of 21 may bring up to five liters of alcohol per person. Alcohol may not exceed 70% (140 proof) alcohol by volume.

The limit to alcoholic beverages that contain less than 24% alcohol (i.e. wine, beer, etc.) are only restricted by our baggage size and weight requirements. Please note, with the current ban on liquids in carry-on baggage through security, alcoholic beverages that are being carried on a flight must be purchased in the secure boarding area (after going through the security checkpoint). However, JetBlue will not be liable for damage, loss or spoilage of these items.

You may bring wine, champagne or beer on a flight for consumption during the flight if it is in an unopened container. If you’d like to drink the alcohol you carry on, you may give it to one of our Inflight crewmembers, and they will be happy to serve it to you.

All carry-on or checked articles must meet the above applicable requirements.
