Check in & Pick Up Info for Unaccompanied Minors - JFK

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

drop off information

Only one adult may accompany the child to the gate of their departing flight. It is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the unaccompanied minor, may pass through security with the adult.

When dropping off the unaccompanied minor, the parent/guardian may leave the airport after the plane has pushed from the gate as long as we have their cell phone information documented in the reservation. In the event that the plane has to return to the gate, an airport crewmember will contact the drop off person, who must immediately return to the airport. The drop off person then must request a gate pass from the ticket counter to pick up the child at the departure gate.

pick up information

Terminal 5: When picking up unaccompanied minors, the parent/guardian may get a Gate Pass to pick up the minor at the gate or go to the UNMR Room located next to the Baggage Service Office on the Arrival level of the terminal. Note: the identification of the person picking up the minor must match the pick up information listed on the reservation.

Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

Terminal 4: When picking up unaccompanied minors, the parent/guardian must go to the Transfer/Interline desk located next to the Customs' exit. Gate passes will not be issued at Terminal 4 for unaccompanied minor pick up.

Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.
