Baggage Claim is located in the Arrivals Terminal. You can pick up your bags at Carousel 1 and 2.

If your baggage has been delayed or damaged, it is important to make a baggage claim with a JetBlue crewmember while you're at the airport.

If you need to make the claim once you've left the airport, please call the JetBlue Baggage Service Office at the airport you flew into within four hours after arrival.

The baggage service office is open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Boarding and Deplaning Options - STI

Permitting weather and other circumstances, Santiago may offer boarding and deplaning from both the front and back of the aircraft.

The option to board and deplane from the back is available for customers who are seated in the back half of the aircraft and for those who can comfortably ascend stairs.

Our ticket counter is located next to American Airlines and is open during the following hours:

 The Airport Ticket Sale Office is open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m and from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are open on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., and are closed on Sunday.

We recommend you arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to departure. Avoid delays by checking for traffic alerts, and allow enough time to go through security screening, particularly during holidays and peak travel days. Please note, JetBlue has cutoff times for baggage check in, and also for check in at the departure gate; JetBlue will not be responsible for expenses incurred due to late check in.

To get through security you will need to check in at the ticket counter and receive your boarding pass. Our flights depart out of Gate B1.

Documents required for travel vary according to citizenship, residency, age (for minors), length of stay, purpose of visit, student status, etc. Please check for specific requirements for the country, or countries, you are visiting to make sure you have the correct documents.

Proof of return or onward travel and documents required for next destination are required at the time of check in. Failure to provide such documentation will result in denied boarding.

The Dominican Republic has strict requirements concerning the travel of minors (persons under the age of 18) to/from the Dominican Republic. Any customer under the age of 18 who is unaccompanied, traveling with someone other than both parents or legal guardians, or who is traveling with only one parent or legal guardian, should contact the Dominican Republic Consulate in the United States or the Dominican Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs for entry/exit requirements.

Infants between three and 14 days old must also have, in the form of a letter, their doctor's approval to travel.

Customers traveling with an infant as a lap child could be asked for proof of age, such as a passport, birth certificate (copies are acceptable for domestic travel) or an immunization record when the infant's age is questionable. All customers must be checked in for their flight at least 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

We will not be liable for any charges incurred for baggage that was checked late, nor will we be liable for delivery or compensation for late checked baggage.

Each customer must be onboard the aircraft 20 minutes prior to departure.

Any customer not onboard, even if they have checked in and received a boarding pass, may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to denied boarding compensation.

kiosk check in

Kiosk check in is not available for international travel.

We currently do not offer skycap or curbside check in at the Santiago airport.


Check in & Pick Up Info for Unaccompanied Minors - STI

The Dominican Republic has strict requirements concerning the travel of minors (persons under the age of 18) to/from the Dominican Republic. Any customer under the age of 18 who is unaccompanied, traveling with someone other than both parents or legal guardians, or who is traveling with only one parent or legal guardian, should contact the Dominican Republic Consulate in the United States or the Dominican Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs for entry/exit requirements.

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

drop off information

Parents/guardians who are dropping off their minors may leave the airport before the plane has left the gate as long as they have their cell phone number documented on the minor's reservation.

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue Crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor.

pick up information

When picking up an unaccompanied minor, you may meet them in the arrivals area in the main Terminal. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government issued photo ID.

Terminal information when arriving from New York's JFK

When arriving from the Dominican Republic, you will arrive JFK at Terminal 4, receive your baggage and proceed through Customs and Immigrations.

If you are making a connection you will then re-check your bags at the re-check counter in Terminal 4 and continue on to Terminal 6.

You may get from Terminal 4 to Terminal 6 via AirTrain free of charge.
