making a baggage claim

If your baggage has been delayed or damaged, it is important to make a baggage claim with a JetBlue crewmember while you're at the airport.

If you need to make the claim once you've left the airport, please call the JetBlue Baggage Service Office at the airport you flew into within four hours after arrival.

The baggage service office is open from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., 4:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 11:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m.

Boarding & Deplaning Options - SLC

Permitting weather and other circumstances, Salt Lake City may offer boarding and deplaning from both the front and back of the aircraft.

The option to board and deplane from the back is available for customers who are seated in the back half of the aircraft and for those who can comfortably ascend stairs.

ticket counter hours and location

Our ticket counter is located in Terminal 1 next to Southwest Airlines and is open during the following hours:

We recommend you arrive at the airport at least 60 minutes prior to departure. Avoid delays by checking for traffic alerts, and allow enough time to go through TSA screening, particularly during holidays and peak travel days. Please note, JetBlue has cutoff times for baggage check in, and also for check in at the departure gate; JetBlue will not be responsible for expenses incurred due to late check in.

You will need a boarding pass to get through security. Our flights depart out of Gate A7.

check-in requirements for domestic travel

Government issued identification is required for all customers 18 years of age and over. Identification is not required for any person under the age of 18.

The name on the ID must match the name in the reservation.

Forms of valid identification for domestic flights are described below.

One form of photo ID, including:

  • Driver's license
  • Passport
  • Photo ID issued by a government agency
  • JetBlue Airways Corporation ID card

-OR-

Two forms of non-photo ID including:

  • Social Security card
  • Medicare/Medicaid card
  • Voters Registration card
  • Driver's license without photo
  • ID issued by a government agency

Customers traveling with an infant as a lap child may be asked for proof of age, such as a passport, birth certificate (copies are acceptable for domestic travel) or an immunization record when the infant's age is questionable. Infants between three and 14 days old must also have, in the form of a letter, their doctor's approval to travel.

Unaccompanied minors must check in at the ticket counter. An unaccompanied minor does not need photo ID. However, the adult dropping them off and picking them up will need photo ID. This adult must be named in the reservation.

Your confirmation number or itinerary may be helpful, but are not necessary to check in.

All reservations not paid for at least 30 minutes prior to departure are subject to cancellation.

check-in cut-off time

Checked baggage may not be accepted less than 30 minutes prior to the flight departure time. We will not be liable for any charges incurred for baggage that was checked late, nor will we be liable for delivery or compensation for late checked baggage.

If you are not checking bags, you may check in up to 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure and must be in the gate area at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

boarding cut-off time

Each customer must be onboard the aircraft 15 minutes prior to departure. Standby customers may be cleared at 10 minutes to departure. Any customer not onboard, even if they have checked in and received a boarding pass, may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to denied boarding compensation.

kiosk check in

If you have a confirmed reservation, feel free to use a kiosk machine to check in. You may check in using the kiosk no more than four hours prior to departure if you are checking baggage. Customers with no checked baggage may check in within 24 hours from their scheduled departure time. Kiosk check in is not available 30 minutes or less before departure.

You can retrieve your information and check in at a kiosk using one of the following methods:

  • Reservation number
  • Emailed itinerary with the bar code
  • Credit card with your name on it
  • TrueBlue number or email address and password if you're a TrueBlue member

In order to validate your boarding pass, you'll need to present it along with your photo ID at the gate.

skycap and curbside check in

Skycap and curbside check in are currently not available at Salt Lake City International Airport.


Check in & Pick Up Info for Unaccompanied Minors - SLC

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

When a gate pass is issued, it is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the unaccompanied minor, may pass through security with the adult.

drop off information

Parents/guardians who are dropping off their minors may leave the airport before the plane has left the gate as long as they have their cell phone number documented on the minor's reservation.

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue Crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. Please note, the parent/guardian must request a gate pass at the airport ticket counter to pick up their minor at the departure gate.

pick up information

When picking up an unaccompanied minor, one person may receive a gate pass to proceed into the arrivals area to meet the minor. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government issued photo ID.

The airport is situated northwest of downtown Salt Lake City. Its access road connects to a junction on I-80 and Bangerter Highway.

from downtown Salt Lake City

Take I-80 west. Exit on Bangerter Highway north and follow the signs for the Salt Lake International Airport.

from the South

Take I-15 north to I-215 west. Go to I-80 west. Stay to the right on I-80 west it curves to the right and becomes Bangerter Highway. Follow the signs to the Salt Lake City International Airport.

from the North

Take I-15 south to I-215 west. Go to I-80 west. Stay to the right on I-80 west it curves to the right and becomes Bangerter Highway. Follow the signs to the Salt Lake City International Airport.

Ground Transportation - SLC

There is a Ground Transportation Desk located at the far end of baggage claim in both terminals where ground transportation options and information can be obtained.

There are video monitors in each baggage claim area that also display this information.

bus service

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) provides bus service to and from the airport between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 6:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

long-term parking

The long-term parking lot is located south and west of the terminal buildings.

The airport provides free shuttle service between the parking lot and the terminals. The shuttles run every five minutes.

The rate for long-term parking is free for the first hour, the second hour is *$2 each additional hour is *$1. The daily maximum rate is *$7 with a weekly maximum rate of *$49.

short-term parking

The short-term parking terrace is located directly west of the terminals. The lower level is restricted to hourly parking only.

Short-term parking is free for the first half hour and *$2 for the second half hour. Every additional 20 minutes is *$1 with a daily maximum rate of *$28.

For your convenience, regular and oversized wheelchairs are available upon request. Electric carts are available in the concourse area.

Text telephones are located next to all payphones.

TDD/TTY machines are available at the ticket counter and at the gate.
