If your baggage has been delayed or damaged, it is important to make a baggage claim with a Cape Air crewmember while you're at the airport.

If you need to make the claim once you've left the airport, please call the JetBlue Baggage Service Office within four hours after arrival.

The Cape Air ticket counter is located in the next to US Airways and is open from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

We recommend you arrive at the airport at least 60 minutes prior to departure. You will need a boarding pass to get through security. Our flights depart out of Gate 1.

check-in requirements for domestic travel

Government issued identification is required for all customers 18 years of age and over. Identification is not required for any person under the age of 18.

The name on the ID must match the name in the reservation.

Forms of valid identification for domestic flights are described below.

One form of photo ID, including:

  • Driver's license
  • Passport
  • Photo ID issued by a government agency
  • JetBlue Airways Corporation ID card

-OR-

Two forms of non-photo ID including:

  • Social Security card
  • Medicare/Medicaid card
  • Voters Registration card
  • Driver's license without photo
  • ID issued by a government agency

Customers traveling with an infant as a lap child may be asked for proof of age, such as a passport, birth certificate (copies are acceptable for domestic travel) or an immunization record when the infant's age is questionable. Infants between three and 14 days old must also have, in the form of a letter, their doctor's approval to travel.

Unaccompanied minors must check in at the ticket counter. An unaccompanied minor does not need photo ID. However, the adult dropping them off and picking them up will need photo ID. This adult must be named in the reservation.

Your confirmation number or itinerary may be helpful, but are not necessary to check in.

All reservations not paid for at least 30 minutes prior to departure are subject to cancellation.

Checked baggage may not be accepted less than 30 minutes prior to the flight departure time. We will not be liable for any charges incurred for baggage that was checked late, nor will we be liable for delivery or compensation for late checked baggage.

If you are not checking bags, you may check in up to 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure and must be in the gate area at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

boarding cut-off time

Each customer must be onboard the aircraft 15 minutes prior to departure. Standby customers may be cleared at 10 minutes to departure. Any customer not onboard, even if they have checked in and received a boarding pass, may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to denied boarding compensation.

Directions to MVY

from Edgartown

From Main Street follow the signs to West Tisbury. Turn onto West Tisbury Road for approximately 5.3 miles. Turn right onto Airport Road. Keep right on Airport Road for the airline terminal.

from Oak Bluffs

Follow Circuit Avenue, which becomes Wing Road. At the stop, proceed for three miles. The road becomes Barnes Road. Continue on Barnes Road through another stop until it intersects with West Tisbury Road. Turn right and then turn right again on to Airport Road.

Taxis are available across from the main entrance to the passenger terminal and provide service throughout the island. Taxi fares are determined by zones, ranging from *$9 to $23.

public transportation

The Martha's Vineyard Regional Transit Authority operates public buses from the airport to all of the island villages and many popular island locations. Bus routes also serve several island beaches including State Beach, Oak Bluffs, and South Beach in Edgartown. One-way fares are *$1 per town, including town of origin. The Steamship Authority

Year-round passenger and vehicle ferry service is available from Wood's Hole to Martha's Vineyard. The ships dock at Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs.
