If your baggage has been delayed or damaged, it is important to make a baggage claim with a JetBlue crewmember while you're at the airport.

If you need to make the claim once you've left the airport, please call the Aguadilla JetBlue Baggage Service Office within four hours after arrival.

Boarding & Deplaning Options - BQN

Aguadilla does not have a jetbridge and all boarding is done via the airstairs. A wheelchair lift is used for customers in a wheelchair or for those who are unable to ascend stairs.

Depending on weather and other circumstances, Aguadilla may offer boarding and deplaning from both the front and back of the aircraft.

We recommend you arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to departure. Avoid delays by checking for traffic alerts, and allow enough time to go through security screening, particularly during holidays and peak travel days. Please note, JetBlue has cutoff times for baggage check in, and also for check in at the departure gate; JetBlue will not be responsible for expenses incurred due to late check in.

You will need a boarding pass to get through security. Our flights depart out of Gate 15.

check-in requirements for travel to/from Puerto Rico

U.S. citizens are not required to have passports to enter Puerto Rico; however, proof of residency or citizenship is recommended for your return.

Proof of citizenship is:

  • A valid or expired U.S. passport (canceled passports are not acceptable)
  • Original U.S. birth certificate, and a government issued photo ID
  • U.S. citizenship papers
  • U.S. naturalization papers

U.S. military ID Proof of residency is:

  • State issued driver's license
  • State issued identification card
  • Alien registration card (green card) which must be the form I-15512 card, the form I-151 is no longer valid.

Customers traveling with an infant as a lap child could be asked for proof of age, such as a passport, birth certificate or an immunization record when the infant's age is questionable. Infants between three and 14 days old must also have, in the form of a letter, their doctor's approval to travel.

If you will be departing from Puerto Rico to another Caribbean Island, with the exception of the U.S. Virgin Islands, you will be required to present proof of citizenship at the airline providing the transportation prior to departure in Puerto Rico, upon entry onto a cruise ship, at the port of entry, and prior to return.

check-in cut-off time

Checked baggage may not be accepted less than 30 minutes prior to the flight departure time. We will not be liable for any charges incurred for baggage that was checked late, nor will we be liable for delivery or compensation for late checked baggage.

If you are not checking bags, you may check in up to 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure and must be in the gate area at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

Each customer must be onboard the aircraft 15 minutes prior to departure.

Any customer not onboard, even if they have checked in and received a boarding pass, may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to denied boarding compensation.

kiosk check in

If you have a confirmed reservation, feel free to use a kiosk machine to check in. You may check in using the kiosk no more than four hours prior to departure if you are checking baggage. Customers with no checked baggage may check in within 24 hours from their scheduled departure time. Kiosk check in is not available 30 minutes or less before departure.

You can retrieve your information and check in at a kiosk using one of the following methods:

  • Reservation number
  • Emailed itinerary with the bar code
  • Credit card with your name on it
  • TrueBlue number or email address and password if you're a TrueBlue member.

In order to validate your boarding pass, you'll need to present it along with your photo ID at the gate.

Skycaps are available to assist you with your bags to the ticket counter; however, they are not set up to check you in at the curb.


Check in & Pick Up Info for Unaccompanied Minors - BQN

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

When a gate pass is issued, it is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the unaccompanied minor, may pass through security with the adult.

Drop off Information

Parents/guardians who are dropping off their minors may leave the airport before the plane has left the gate as long as they have their cell phone number documented on the minor's reservation.

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue Crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. Please note, the parent/guardian must request a gate pass at the airport ticket counter to pick up their minor at the departure gate.

Pick up Information

When picking up an unaccompanied minor, you can meet them in the baggage claim area where they will be escorted by a JetBlue Crewmember. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government issued photo ID.

Parking is located east side of the airport terminal and there is a parking fee of $3* for the first 4 hours and $.75* for each additional hour.

Puerto Rico Customs and Agriculture

When exiting Puerto Rico, you are required to clear all checked baggage through Agriculture prior to check in.

All customers are subject to random Customs inspection.

Items such as fruit, live plants, and certain types of meat are not allowed into the mainland. Please check with U.S. Customs, Agriculture, and Fish and Wildlife for specific restrictions.
