PDX - Boarding & Deplaning Options
We board and deplane in Portland via the jetbridge and on occasion for rear airstairs.

PDX - Check-in and Pick-up Info for Unaccompanied Minors

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor (UMNR). UMNRs will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

When a gate pass is issued, it is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the UMNR, may pass through security with the adult.

Drop-off information

When dropping off the UMNR, the parent/guardian may NOT leave the airport until the following criteria are met:

  • The parent/guardian has a signed copy of the UMNR form
  • The UMNR is onboard the aircraft
  • The parent/guardian's name, address and cell phone number are all documented on the minor's reservation.

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. Please note, the parent/guardian must request a gate pass at the airport ticket counter to pick up their minor at the departure gate.

Pick-up information

When picking up a UMNR, one person may receive a gate pass to proceed into the arrivals area to meet the minor. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

In cases where a flight arrives after the ticket counter is closed, the pick up person should proceed directly to baggage claim to meet the minor.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the UMNR form or on the reservation and that person must present their government-issued photo ID.

PDX - Special Service Information

For your convenience, regular and oversized wheelchairs are available upon request.

TDD/TTY phones for the deaf or hard of hearing can be found throughout the terminal.

Visual paging is available in Concourses C, D and E, as well as baggage claim and the central terminal food court.

A service dog relief area is located outside baggage claim at the north end of the terminal.

PDX - Pets and Animals
  • Trained service animals are allowed in the airport any time. A service animal is one that is specifically trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability.
  • Other animals, including emotional support or comfort animals, are only allowed in the airport if traveling with their owner. These animals must be kept in pet carriers, except when using the pet relief area.
  • In rare cases when an animal does not fit in a pet carrier, the owner must carry the animal when practical; otherwise the animal must remain on a leash that does not extend from the body by more than three feet.
  • All animals in the airport must be housebroken and must be kept under control at all times. If an animal isn’t in a carrier, keeping the animal under control means keeping it on a short leash and away from working police and security dogs.
  • Beginning September 2018, airport staff will issue warnings and citations, which can come with a fine of $250.
