Customers picking up Unaccompanied Minors
When picking up an unaccompanied minor, one person may receive a gate pass to proceed to the gate area to meet the minor. Please note that the TSA security checkpoint at Syracuse Hancock International Airport closes daily at 9 p.m. ET. In order for a gate pass to be issued, customers must arrive at the airport in time to pass through the TSA checkpoints. Otherwise, they will need to wait outside of security to meet the unaccompanied minor.
JetBlue is not liable for any charges incurred for bags that were checked late, nor liable for delivery or compensation for late-checked bags.
Syracuse offers boarding and deplaning via a jetbridge from the front of the aircraft only.
Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.
When a gate pass is issued, it is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the unaccompanied minor, may pass through security with the adult.
Drop off information
When dropping off the unaccompanied minor, the parent/guardian may NOT leave the airport until the following criteria are met:
In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. Please note, the parent/guardian must request a gate pass at the airport ticket counter to pick up their minor at the departure gate.
Pick up information
When picking up an unaccompanied minor, one person may receive a gate pass to proceed to the gate area to meet the minor. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.
In cases where a flight arrives after the ticket counter is closed, the pick up person should proceed directly to either the arrivals area or baggage claim to meet the minor.
The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government-issued photo ID.
For your convenience, regular and oversized wheelchairs are available upon request. Electric carts are not available in the concourse area.
