Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID. An Unaccompanied Minor must be present at the JetBlue Ticket Counter with guardian to be checked in and receive all necessary documents for boarding. When a gate pass is issued, it is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the unaccompanied minor, may pass through security with the adult.
Drop off information
When dropping off the unaccompanied minor, the parent/guardian may NOT leave the airport until the following criteria are met:
In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. Please note, the parent/guardian must request a gate pass at the airport ticket counter to pick up their minor at the departure gate. Gate passes cannot be issued after the ticket counter closes.
Pick up information
When picking up an unaccompanied minor, please go to the JetBlue ticket counter and request a gate pass. After the ticket counter closes, Unaccompanied Minors will be escorted by a JetBlue crewmember to be met at the security exit on the upper level near Starbucks Coffee Shop or in the JetBlue Baggage Service Office on the lower level.
Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.
The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government-issued photo ID.
Regular and oversized wheelchairs are available upon request.
TDD public pay telephones for the deaf and hard of hearing are located directly across from Carousel 1, and on the second level near the TSA Security checkpoint. TDD machines are also available at the information desk in both Terminals.
The information desk is located across from Carousel 3 on the main terminal level is open from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. daily.
