Cut-off Time for Checking In
  • If you're not checking bags, you must check in no later than 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights.
  • Checked bags will not be accepted more than six (6) hours ahead of scheduled departure time, nor less than 40 minutes (domestic) and 60 minutes (international) prior to departure.
  • All customers must be onboard the aircraft 15 minutes prior to scheduled or posted departure time for domestic and international flights.

JetBlue is not liable for any charges incurred for bags that were checked late, nor liable for delivery or compensation for late-checked bags.

POP - Boarding & Deplaning Options
Puerto Plata Airport deplaning options are based on jetbridge availability. A wheelchair lift is used for customers in a wheelchair or for those who are unable to ascend stairs.

POP - Check In & Pick Up Info for Unaccompanied Minors

The Dominican Republic has strict requirements concerning the travel of minors (persons under the age of 18) to/from the Dominican Republic. Any customer under the age of 18 who is unaccompanied, traveling with someone other than both parents or legal guardians, or who is traveling with only one parent or legal guardian, should contact the Dominican Republic Consulate in the United States or the Dominican Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs for entry/exit requirements.

Government-issued photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's government issued photo ID.

No Gate Pass can be issued as per Airport’s Authorities and Government policy.

Drop off information

When dropping off the unaccompanied minor, the parent/guardian may NOT leave the airport until the following criteria are met:

  • The parent/guardian has a signed copy of the UMNR form
  • The UMNR is onboard the aircraft 
  • The parent/guardian's name, address and cell phone number are all documented on the minor's reservation.

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor.

Pick up information

When picking up an unaccompanied minor, you may meet them in the arrivals area in the main Terminal. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government-issued photo ID.

SDQ, STI, POP, LRM, PUJ - Traveling to the Dominican Republic with Pets/Service and Emotional Support Animals

Cats and dogs are required to have the following upon arrival in the Dominican Republic:

  • The animals must be accompanied by a health certificate issued and signed by a licensed veterinarian.
  • The animal was examined within 30 days prior to departure and found to be free of any infectious diseases, and treated for external and internal parasites.
  • The animal was vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccination Certificate should include date of vaccination, established period of immunity, product name and serial number.

Upon arrival ask to speak to the animal control person who will review your veterinarian certificates and fill in the official pet entry permission form required at a cost of approximately US $10.
