Cut-off time for checking in
  • Checked baggage may be accepted within six (6) hours of scheduled departure time based on the opening of the ticket counter on the same calendar day
  • Checked baggage will not be accepted less than 40 minutes prior to departure on domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights.

JetBlue is not liable for any charges incurred for baggage that was checked late, nor will we be liable for delivery or compensation for late-checked baggage. 

  • If you're not checking bags, you must check in no later than 30 minutes* prior to scheduled departure for domestic flights, and 60 minutes for international flights

You may pick your bags up from baggage claim on the first floor on carousels 4 and 5.

Making a baggage claim

If your baggage has been delayed or damaged, it is important to make a baggage claim with a JetBlue crewmember while you're at the airport.

If you need to make the claim once you've left the airport, please call the JetBlue Baggage Service Office within four (4) hours after arrival.

The baggage service office is open from 9:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.

Ticket counter hours and location

Our ticket counter is located on the south side of the domestic terminal and is open daily from:

9:00 p.m. - 1:15 a.m.

We recommend you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights, and 2 1/2 hours prior to international flights. Avoid delays by checking for traffic alerts, and allow enough time to go through TSA screening, particularly during holidays and peak travel days. Please note, JetBlue has cut-off times for baggage check in, and also for check in at the departure gate; JetBlue will not be responsible for expenses incurred due to late check in.

You will need a boarding pass to get through security.

Boarding cut-off time

Each customer must be onboard the aircraft 15 minutes prior to departure. Standby customers may be cleared at 10 minutes to departure. Any customer not onboard, even if they have checked in and received a boarding pass, may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to denied boarding compensation.

Kiosk check in

If you have a confirmed reservation, feel free to use a kiosk machine to check in. You may check in using the kiosk no more than six hours prior to departure if you are checking baggage. Customers with no checked baggage may check in within 24 hours from their scheduled departure time. Kiosk check in is not available 30 minutes or less before departure.

You can retrieve your information and check in at a kiosk using one of the following methods:

  • Confirmation code
  • Emailed itinerary with the bar code
  • Credit card with your name on it
  • TrueBlue number or email address and password if you're a TrueBlue member

In order to validate your boarding pass, you'll need to present it along with your photo ID at the gate.

Curbside Check In and Skycap

JetBlue does not offer Curbside Check-in at Ted Stevens Anchorage Airport. However, there are independent Porters available to pick up baggage upon airport arrival.

Check in & pick up info for unaccompanied minors - ANC

Photo identification is required for both parties who drop off and pick up an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted without the guardian's photo ID.

When a gate pass is issued, it is the TSA's decision as to whether a young child, in addition to the unaccompanied minor, may pass through security with the adult.

Drop off information

When dropping off the unaccompanied minor, the parent/guardian may NOT leave the airport until the following criteria are met:

  • The parent/guardian has a signed copy of the UMNR form
  • The UMNR is onboard the aircraft 
  • The parent/guardian's name, address and cell phone number are all documented on the minor's reservation

In the event of a gate return, a JetBlue crewmember will contact the parent/guardian so that he/she can immediately return to the airport to meet their minor. Please note, the parent/guardian must request a gate pass at the airport ticket counter to pick up their minor at the departure gate.

Pick up information

When picking up an unaccompanied minor, one person may receive a gate pass to proceed into the arrivals area to meet the minor. Please arrive at the airport no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival.

In cases where a flight arrives after the ticket counter is closed, the pick-up person should proceed directly to baggage claim to meet the minor.

The child will only be released to the person indicated on the unaccompanied minor form or on the reservation and that person must present their government-issued photo ID.

Directions to ANC

When driving from the North:
Drive south on the Glenn Highway into Anchorage. The Glenn Highway turns into 5th Avenue which goes West into downtown Anchorage. 5th Avenue ends at "L" Street just before the Inlet. Turn left (South) on "L" Street. "L" Street eventually turns into Minnesota Dr. Turn right onto International Airport Rd. which takes you directly to the Airport.

When driving from the South:
Drvie North on the Seward Hwy/S.R.1 into the south section of Anchorage. Exit the Highway at the O'Malley interchange. Turn left and proceed West on O'Malley Road. O'Malley bends North and becomes Minnesota Dr. Exit Minnesota at the International Airport Road interchange. Turn left (West) onto International Airport Road which takes you directly to the Airport.

Visitor Information

Visitor information is available seven days a week in both the South (Domestic) and North (International) terminals of the Airport. These visitor centers are staffed with helpful volunteers organized by the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau. For more information about visiting Anchorage and Alaska visit the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau website. There are brochure racks located in the vicinity of the visitor centers and visitor guides located through the terminals.

The South (Domestic) terminal visitor information center is located on Level 1, bag claim level, in "C" Concourse, behind the escalators. It is staffed from 9AM to 4PM, seven days a week. A visitor information kiosk is located on Level 1, "A" Concourse, across from Bag Claim No. 4. It is staffed when required. The phone number is (907) 266-2437.

The North (International) terminal visitor information center is located in the lobby of the terminal. It is staffed from 9AM to 4PM, seven days a week during scheduled flight arrivals. The phone number is (907) 266-2657.

The Transit lounge of the North (International) Terminal has visitor information for international transit customers. The phone number is (907) 248-0162. 

Baggage and Freezer  
Baggage and Freezer storage is available at the Airport in the South (Domestic) Terminal on the Lower Level next to Bag Claim No. 4. Access from the North Terminal is available via the free airport shuttle that operates every 15 minutes between terminals.
Charges are $6 to $8 per bag, per day depending on size. Fish boxes, etc. are charged $13 to $16 per box, per day depending on size. There is no time limit as to length items may be stored. Customers must present an airline ticket or boarding pass in order to use this service
